In the 1960's, Mickey B sang and recorded
ten records with 'Tico and the Triumphs'. Paul
Simon also was a member of this group. Although
Mickey does not sing with a group today, his love of
the music is evident in his radio show and in his
support of today's groups.
In 1979, Mickey B wrote, produced and sang
"Here Comes the Garbage Man", which was
released in the U.S.A. on the Buddha label. In
Europe, the song was picked up by the Vogue label
and charted at #7 in France. Mickey B also
recorded a number of other songs on the Buddha label
as "Mickey's Men".
Mickey B has made numerous guest
appearances on television. In addition to
appearances on The Gordon Elliot Show, The Joe
Franklin Show, The Joe Martin Show and Doo
Wop Is Alive, Mickey B has produced and
hosted several of his own shows for cable TV.
Mickey B, "The Prince of Rock & Roll",
is also the Prince of Humanitarianism. The list of
charities that Mickey B supports includes:
Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy - Jerry's
Kids, American Cancer Society, Aids Research,
Vietnam Veterans and the list goes on.
Mickey B is the honorary chairman of the "Have A
Heart" Children's Cancer Society. Mickey B is the
host of the National Committee for Furtherance
Jewish Education Telethon. Mickey B also created
with Rabbi Perl the Good Deeds Awards for teenagers,
.... and the list goes on.
For sixteen years, Mickey B has
hosted the 'Juke Box Revue' segment for the
Cerebral Palsy Telethon, appearing on WWOR-TV
network with hosts Dennis James, Marilyn Michael,
Ben Vereen, Florence Henderson and Clint Holmes. His
reputation as 'Prince of Rock & Roll'
gives him the credentials to introduce the great
talents of the 50's and 60's, while supporting this
charity.
Mickey B
writes a monthly column for the "50+ LifeStyles"
newspaper while also supporting many senior
promotions and events. He is also seen and heard on
many radio and TV commercials.
